A friend of mine told me that running could damage my knees due to my weight but I love jogging and that’s one of the only things that motivate me to get my butt off the bed. Should I replace running with a different type of exercise? Or should I just keep doing what I do? I actually think my thighs are getting stronger so I don’t really see where’s the issue.
My knee surgeon who is helping me AVOID knee surgery told me to use nothing but a recumbent bike… honestly I thought he was CRAZY but time tells no lies. It helped me on my weight loss journey and my knees feel better because the muscles supporting the knee is stronger… I use to walk everyday and everywhere with a cane but I haven’t used a cane in over a year!!! I still have NO cartilage in BOTH my knee caps and both knee joints are spot balding so I do have pain on the occasion but still no cane. He use this as an example… he said you know how all those cyclists are so toned and lean? Well they use recumbent bikes to take the stress off the joints when training and they cycle, cycle, cycle! I did have the sleeve done two years ago but with my medical limitations I was worried I would have trouble dropping the weight but here’s my pic… you don’t have to kill yourself in a gym or damage your joints to succeed I’m proof!!!!
