Anybody fishing lake superior by Duluth was wondering are people driving in canal park or the st. Luis river. Are there any fish in there. Was thinking about winter camping on the lake this weekend I don’t know if it’s even feasible. Can’t find much on the internet. Is there a bait shop I can call. How far to get lake trout. Are Walleyes on structure maybe. I’m completely clueless. But sounds like a nice weekend trip?

You won’t be able to ice fish trout, your best bet to camp would be walk out of park point and stay in the bay, best bite there is early morning.

No ice on the Gitch around or near the Twin Ports. Need to travel to WI waters of Chequamegon Bay and fish near Ashland WI if you want Superior. It would be a Great Lakes stamp and a WI license. St Louis River has fishable waters, but is a major hit n miss program. Give us a shout if we can be of further assistance. Thanks

The lake side is wide open and needs a boat to fish—the bay side–the shipping channel is still being kept open–so all ice is just giant chunks that is able to be walked and some brave to drive ATV’s –it is the noisiest ice you will ever fish-because water level flexes so much throughout the day.

Go by ashland wi, they are getting eyes and lakers, I spent a full week on the ice two weeks ago. Plenty of safe ice. Call river rock bait shop in Ashland if interested. They will get you on the fish.

You can go in the harbor off park point in canal park or off Barkers Island Hotel in Superior. or the St. Louis river. Walleyes and perch on both Pike crappies in the river. Plenty of landings for the river!
