Lack of Potassium causes muscle cramps. But definitely hydrate before you exercise. I also have to keep my feet warm at all times, otherwise I have the fiercest cramps

Could be a potassium or magnesium deficiency, dehydration, or a blood deficiency in more serious cases. I would start with water, making sure you are getting all 3L in per day, as well as keeping food logs to see if you are eating enough of your veggies. Never hurts to consult a doctor, if you feel like it is abnormal for you.

I know runners use pickle juice. I would not rule out being low on potassium. Do you also get Charlie horses in your calfs? If it keeps up I would contact my dr.
