how about a lifetime of accumulation of pollution? Those that have poor detox capabilities may be at higher risk. Once you reach the metabolic tipping point of exceeding your body’s detox capabilities then you are in trouble.

Makes sense. I have methylation issues and Gilbert’s Syndrome. My functional nurse practitioner says I have a “sluggish” liver.

think the thyroid is a very delicate & sensitive organ. I agree with Gail, a lifetime of toxins and inadequate nutrition can weaken it further. I also think that thyroid (toxic load) health gets passed down through generations from parent to child.
It seems every second woman I speak to has some form of thyroid dysfunction.
