The more resistance the harder it is. So naturally weighted squats will give you better results.

Weight squats are ultimately more effective for strength. But box squats, prisoner squats, and ball wall squats help with movement and muscular endurance.

It really depends on your goal.

It really depends on your goals. Weighted back squat is considered better even to the calisthenics community. Bodyweight squats have their place are are really useful when you apply all the progressions. You can build decent strength and size with pistol squats, shrimp squats, and elevated deep lunges, but this will cap much lower than weighted squats will. I’m a huge advocate for bodyweight fitness but legs are too hard to properly stimulate with just bodyweight once you get to a certain level.
