You can eat many types of foods provided you stay under your calorie goal. Oats are good.

Yes rolled oats are OK I use them and I have lost 72kg in 12 months.

For breakfast I have a shake and supplements my shake has things like rolled oats and fruit added 2 and half hours I then snack on a boiled egg or cottage cheese and cucumber with tomato on vita weat crackers or leave cracks out some times then have lunch bout 2 hours later lunch is 1 serve brown rice on Malaysian curry flavoured tuna from john west tuna 2 hours later snack of pineapple and berries as pineapple helps burn fat from belly and around organs the 2 and half hours later dinner is something like salmon with steamed veg and sweet potato or a chilli chicken stirfry in lettuce cups popcorn as bed time snack and 1 liter of water per 25kg and 2 glasses of that is prior to each meal to help with filling me and hydration and digestion. I use low GI hi protein and fiber rich foods as they all sustain you longer and help with weight loss.
