Can you get kidney stones on KETO? My daughter is getting them. Not sure why. She’s only been doing it 4 weeks with 22lb loss. Also she’s getting spasms which lock her fingers straight but in a curved position and she thinks it’s due to the diet which could be stressing her. But I’m fine been doing it for 5 months.

Stones are made up frequently of calcium. With Keto you usually consume a large amount of dairy products therefore increasing your calcium intake. Water, water, water.

Too much calcium sometimes! Drink water and cranberry juice. I’ve had kidney stones, no fun.

Protein is the one element that forms kidney stones; I suggest you need to get doctors advice first.

She may not be drinking enough water. Kidney stones can occur if you’re dehydrated.

Pretty sure stones can be caused by protein in the urine too. Lots of water will help. Also sodium potassium and magnesium will help with the finger spasms. When I lack those 3 I get horrible Charlie horses. Hope that helps.
