Just making a double batch of the black bean burger as it says you can freeze for another time. Silly question but do I freeze them as uncooked patties or cook then first?
I did this yesterday and froze half the patties individually on a small baking sheet before grouping them together in one package.
The colder the food is prior to going into the freezer the better as it freezes quickly and develops smaller ice crystals making the unfrozen product less damaged.
I’d freeze them uncooked. Cooking them first and then having to reheat later after defrosting would make them more dry I’d think.
I agree with freezing before cooking. I made them recently and cooked them first. They were a bit dry, so next time I think I’ll freeze before cooking.
