Do I need to crush or grind Chia seeds to get the nutrients? (Calcium and Omega3)
No you don’t, you can, but it’s not necessary.
Soak chia in liquids before consumption. It will soften the outer shell and make it very easily absorbed.
You do not need to but the absorption will be better if they are freshly grounded.
I’ve seen Dr Greger say if you don’t grind there will be no health benefit it will just pass through your system… not sure about soaking.
If you soak chia it makes a gel or almost pudding like consistency nuts and seeds should be soaked if possible always.
