Does anyone have advice on building muscle and putting weight on with Keto? Since starting I have cut 12lbs since I started. I lift weights 5 days a week and need to start adding some lbs back.

I tried eating at a fairly large strict keto surplus for about 3 months & gained a negligible amount of weight. I found it interestingly difficult to add body weight despite all my lifts constantly improving. I even went down to 3 workouts a week. If you figure it out let a brotha know!

Watch going to high on the protein. I feel back into my old way of thinking and pretty sure I knocked myself out of Keto and messed with being fat adapted. Energy just sunk, joints started to really ache again… All the good stuff went away. I put on more muscle than I was before though. Wasn’t really worth it to me. I’ve been back on moderate protein and I’ve upped my fat only. Not sure if I will continue with solid gains. Hopefully!!!

Eat and lift heavy stuff. I gained 10lbs, mostly lean weight. I was eating 3700 cal mostly from beef. I’m 5’8 185.

Keep everything the same but add more calories so that you’re gaining about a pound a week… start slow by adding 100 cals a week.

Lifting 5 days a week is a lot for trying to gain size. Ever consider that you are over-trained? Consider that muscle grows while outside the gym while recovering from your workout. Keep it brief, intense and infrequent.
