Does anyone know why my amonia is .25 and nitrates are 20 in my established goldfish tank? I’m thinking I just need more filtration?? Also I’m thinking of rehoming him and just sticking with bettas!! Goldfish are high maintenance!

Nitrate at 20-40 is where it’s supposed to be. When it hits 40, that’s your sign for a water change. Ammonia at .25 could be a mini cycle. Keep in mind that carbon can release gunk back into the water if it hasn’t been changed, removed in time
