Have been Keto for 7 months now really enjoying it on a number of levels (energy, wellbeing, sleep, mental clarity, recovery times from work outs, inflammation decrease etc etc) and feeling great. Gone from 89kg to 77 kg. I’m 193 cm tall. Age 38. Body fat gone from 21% to about 9%. Will I just keep losing weight? Am slightly worried I shouldn’t really go any lower… Some people say I look well and some say I look ill! Am fasting a lot during the week but eating large meals in the evenings and eating when hungry and keeping fats up. Any advice?

What’s your carb macro at? You could raise it a bit to 50gms a day. Recalculate your macros for a maintenance level.

It’s never necessary to increase carbs. They’re not essential. I’d increase overall calories and keep keto macros. I’d spread out the fasting and actually track to be certain you’re getting enough food.

Recalculate your macros for maintenance and start to weight/measure track. your eyes lie.

Counting macros is especially helpful for any sort of manipulation. If you find something isn’t working, you can reflect on it and make adjustments. Personally, if I have a goal, I always have a plan to get there. This is no different. I’d not say it’s cultural. I’d say it’s personal. It takes hardly any time once you get the hang of it.

Do you lift Andy? Maybe it’s time to start putting some lean mass on now to help you look ‘fuller’ (muscles give you shape). But in answer to your question keto is a protective woe and will prevent you from going too low. If you do your body will let you know (been there).
