I’m a nurse on a bariatric weightloss unit. First I want to say there can be many complications with this surgery so you have to accept that in a way..meaning are you willing to risk it all? To some people it’s either lose the weight or die trying. It works well for some and some not. You eat very little but is much easier to do with such a small stomach. The sleeve is best far wise as safety and nutrion. A bypass allows for so many nutrients to literally bypass through everything and your body can’t absorb it all causing issues years down the rd. The band can erode into your stomach so do not do this one..my hospital has stopped doing the band all together. The first 2 weeks before surgery you should do a liver shrinking diet which is very strict with mainly healthy veggies. 2 weeks post op is water and protein shakes only. If you are handling those well and have seen your surgeon for a follow up visit he can advance you in week 3 post op to soft foods such as applesauce consistency.
I just want you to really think hard about this before doing it. It’s a huge risk but if it’s worth it to you I wish you all the best!! Good luck hun!
