I keep reading that when you’re our age, you really don’t want to do PR’s anymore. Meaning heavy lifting. Mainly to stay clear of injury and protection of joints and ligaments. An injury can set you back months, even years.
For years I did a “periodization” routine where I would go 8 weeks at 5-10 reps, 8 weeks at 10-15 reps and 8 weeks at 15-20.
Old school method was always Heavy but I find lighter and to failure works better
Wouldn’t that depend on what type of muscle fibres you are trying to improve ? Fast twitch or slow twitch ?
