How are all you whole food advocates doing during flu season? A lot of people around us are suffering, but so far my husband and I have not had any symptoms. I think our diet is protective. Comments?

I also think out diet is protective because it supports our immune system. Good hand washing after being in public is crucial as is keeping your hands away from your face.

I haven’t had it yet but it’s bad in our city. I think you can do all you want to try and avoid getting the flu but there’s a margin of “luck” involved in remaining symptom free. Just keep eating “healthful & healing” foods and WASH OUR HANDS OFTEN… that’s the best we can do.

Everyone around me is sick and ironically they all got the flu shot too. I’m always spared year after year and I don’t get vaccinated either. Nutrition definitely plays a central role in the strength of one’s immune system.

I haven’t been sick since I started WFPB nearly 5 years ago…I’ve been exposed, just haven’t come down with any funk.

I caught the flu–or something very similar–a couple of weeks ago. First time I’d been sick with anything since starting ETL about 5 years ago. I definitely think the diet helps protect from illness, although the shield isn’t completely impermeable!
