I’ve done both – a set exercise program with a schedule and my own made up thing. I do like the schedule only because there’s much less thinking involved.

I used to try to make time to exercise which didn’t always work out for me ( I was too tired, it was too cold to go to gym, blah, blah – I heard that in my head . Then had the thought that I start my day with, “if I do what I always did, I will get what I always got”…but I want more . Now I exercise throughout the day. I start first thing with squats when I am washing my hands, stationary bike when I am eating breakfast ( I know sounds crazy but I have to fit in what I can). Also for me, I stopped gym membership and bought the smaller Total gym ( qvc had a payment plan ). I get all over body with that. I bought a stepper and foldable stationery bike (amazon). Anytime I had a few extra dollars – ha! These are not high end expensive but work for me & easy to store in closet. I also get up during commercials and do in place dancing and squat/ jumps. I change my routine all the time. Also on bariatriceating and YouTube there are free videos using no equipment to get in a great workout. Good luck!

20 minute cardio
✔️40 push-ups
✔️40 squats
✔️40 bicep curls
✔️40 rows
✔️20 weighted sit-ups
✔️20 bike churches
✔️20 leg lifts

This is what I do 5 times a week. I just came up with based off of all of the classes I have taken over the years. This routine is something I can do at home and it covers my whole body. I split my cardio and weights up throughout the week

The bottom line is find something you enjoy and do it! I attend Zumba and Body Pump class (weight lifting to music) and occasionally Body Combat which is punching and kicking
