How do you handle your electrolytes, energy source, and mct oil?

Those who work out first thing in the morning – most specifically long runs – how do you handle your electrolytes, energy source, and mct oil? Do you recommend doing supplements before or after a run? I have had horrible GI issues in the past and the last thing I need is a sprint to the nearest gas station instead of the finish line.

I take my regular meds with a small amount of water, then run, then do water with electrolytes and AM shake when I come back. Running days I add 1/4 tsp sea salt to my shake too.

Fasted run…..carry along water and salt tabs in case. Eat when I’m hungry afterwards. May be 1 hour or 3.

I generally run marathons fully fasted and feel wonderful. I just up my fat intake the day before.

Add some electrolytes for the longer runs if you think you need to.

I have ran 9 marathons with 8 Bqs and my long runs are 1.5-2mm slower than marathon pace.
