So how exactly does doing a 100% water change crash a cycle? If the water column holds hardly any bacteria, and you keep your media wet while doing the 100% wc change… I don’t see how that would effect the cycle.

It doesn’t crash a cycle unless you forget to dechlorinate the water. It’s just not advisable for the fishes health it can shock them

I mean as long as you make sure the temp is the same, and make sure they’re acclimated before they go back in like you would setting up a new tank….Idk 100% wc are so taboo on here lmfao

100% water change, no ammonia, not nitrates, established ecosystem disturbed. Very likely to kill most bacteria and restart the ecosystem/ cycle.
