How have you developed a workout program and how do you track your progress? Pen and paper? App? If so, what app? Do you follow a specific program or have you tailored one yourself? Feeling like I am wandering aimlessly at the gym. Looking for some sense of direction. I am a 54 year old female who is looking to improve strength and body composition.

I really like using the BodySpace app. You have to setup, or follow an existing program, which can be a lot of work on the front end, but it works awesome at the gym for me. I like that it keeps history as well, so you can see progress. That’s how I use it anyway.

I follow Strong By Bret aka the glute guy…it’s like $25 a month, the programming changes every month and he does videos explaining the movements. I haven’t tried other programming but do have Katy Hearns to try. I’ve been thinking about trying Liz Williams program who is behind fitketogirls bc I love her transformation and we have a similar body type. I also use JEFIT to track. It’s okay and recently downloaded some others but this has the largest library I have found and is pretty straight forward.

I hired a performance coach and follow his macro and lifting plan.

Try a couple group strength classes to see what works for you then create your own workout with movements you like and find effective.
