I’ve kept all of these with the exception of killifish. I have had only brief experiences with some (Oscars, Discus, neons). I have had extensive experience with both freshwater and marine angels, but it should be pointed out that these are not closely related to one another.
I get frustrated with some of these articles, especially when their research is so sloppy they can’t manage to find a picture of the right fish as illustrations. The angel depicted is a marine species, tge rarely kept Pygoplites diacanthus (Regal Angel) and one of the most challenging species at that.
Freshwater angels are pretty easy to keep, especially if you have a 55 gallon aquarium or larger, and do some research before you start.
Good point. I still love many of these and I currently have a few swords and cherry barbs. I don’t care how long you’re in this hobby, the Pearl Gourami is one of the most gorgeous aquarium fish there is, and the Platy might be the perfect starter fish.
