How many pound line do you guys use for fishing walleyes? I have four pound on now wondering if that is to light.

Depends on the lake and walleye expectations I have. I always tend to go as light as I can and let the drag do the work. Lighter line to me, makes the jig more easy to control and more sensitive. Last time up at red, I used 2lb to 4lb.

6 is my go to. If it’s a lake with a fair chance of larger fish I throw on 8. If I know the late tends to have smaller fish or they are very line shy, I use 4.

6 and I’ve never broke it on a walleye.

2-4lb test. I even run 4lb test on my northern rods…. I wouldn’t go any bigger then 4lb on any ice rod. Drag is a man’s best friend…

8 for rods 10 for tip ups… you guys using 4 pound on ur tip ups must not even set the hook on the fish because that’s an instant snap waiting to happen.
