I am doing some moderate exercise for about 5 weeks and have only seen about a 3 pound weight loss. I have recently incorporated a weight lifting regime. Help what can be wrong? I was thinking about buying the shakology shakes hoping that will help, but I want a lifestyle change not a fad diet. What can I do I am getting frustrated and feeling hopeless.
Any advice?

I’d be thrilled with a loss of 3 pounds in 5 weeks! Sounds very healthy to me. It probably took you a lot longer than 5 weeks to gain those 3 pounds, so be patient while they come off. Just based upon my own opinion & experience: Check out The Zone Diet. It’s nutritionally sound and sustainable over many years. Also, try using CRON-o-Meter to track exactly what you’re consuming and what nutrition you’re getting. It’s free and fabulous

I was an exercise instructor in my early years and I gained weight from muscle building, so it could be you are too.

I’m hesitant to comment and probably wont follow up…But….You are on the right track looking for a sustainable lifestyle change rather than a fad diet or exercise plan. Don’t buy the overpriced and over-hyped shakeology BS as there are better (and cheaper) shake options, if shakes are what you really want (no diet requires shakes).

It is a common misconception that exercise will result in weight loss. It can, but for most will not.

A key point in sustainable health behavior change is focusing on the behaviors, and not the outcomes. The weight on the scale is just one number. How do you feel, sleep, as well as other aspects of your life. Weight is easy because you can measure it, but the ‘lack’ of results can sabotage your progress.

Bottom line. Keep on moving toward health and don’t worry so much about that damn scale
