I am grateful for the number of MDs and PhDs who are promoting low carb, Keto, Paleo, Primal. I knew that there were 6 MDs and a few scientists who were very pro-Vegan, while I thought that mainstream medicine advocated the Med. diet and that there were only a few personal trainers, renegade chiropractors, and wingnut naturopaths who believed anything else.
Vegan docs put the fear of meat and fat into you by saying: (1) that after Dr. Adkins died his autopsy showed severe arteriosclerosis, so his methods are dangerous; (2) that after eating fat your arteries constrict; (3) that if you eat fats you may only be getting skinny to fit into a narrow coffin; and so on.
With those thoughts in mind I did extensive ‘meta research’ on PubMed to conclude that plant based whole foods was the only answer, not understanding that there is much research and publication that are not available that way, and that the material available on PubMed/NIH is vast indeed. I was cherry picking without realizing it. Plus, the LCHF docs look healthy.

┬áIts really hard to get enough protein without overshooting your calorie needs if vegan. Look at how much quioa you’d need to eat to get anywhere near .8g/lb of lean mass

exactly! i dont know how it would be possible to actually get enough protein as a vegan on Paleo / Keto eating protocol.

Definitely possible to get enough protein on vegan -But- even on high-proteins like lentils you are getting twice the grams of carbs, and potatoes give you 50 carbs for 2 of protein. The exception would be the keto-vegans (I’ve only seen on Youtube) who are eating brazil nuts with PCF of 19-16-88.
