I did leg day followed by 40 minutes of sprinting 30 seconds and walking 2-3 minutes. I woke up yesterday feeling unbelievably sore, (as I expected) and even today I can barely walk. I’m not trying to complain, I would like tips on faster recovery as I was supposed to do cardio again today and I took a few steps running and almost collapsed. How do you recover faster?

A lot of recovery has to do with nutrition and what you are (or aren’t) doing post-workout. What are you eating? BCAA’s (drink) are also a great way to help recover. Also you want to make sure you’re scheduling your workouts correctly.

If you aren’t eating enough protein you will feel very sore. I also found that adding turmeric powder to my smoothies helped.

BCAAs and Epsom salts have been helpful for me. If you have had a really tough workout or long run an ice bath might be in order. Heat may feel great, but cold will reduce inflammation. I’ve only used this after a couple of half marathons and it really helped with recovery.
