I have a couple of questions. I am just finishing up my first 24 hr fast – and it went better than I thought!! To break it though, should I get all of my allotted calories in tonight, or just have a light meal and eat like regular tomorrow? What foods are best? Also, regarding electrolytes. I’m feeling a little shaky now. Mostly it was after an easy 20 minute run. I’m guessing I haven’t gotten enough salt in?? I’ve been strict keto since the first week of November. I thought I was fat adapted… Maybe not?

Eat full calories today but ease into them- meaning something small and maybe 30 min have more. Eating light only is a low calorie day and you don’t want that. Eat full day’s worth or wait till tomorrow. Yes have salt too.

Eat until you are full is always what I suggest. Not a guru, lol. But eat until you are full. If you get hungry again, eat again. If you are worried about the food being too filling after fasting, make it a higher percentage fat than normal.

That sounds like an electrolyte imbalance. Fat adapted or not, you have to get your electrolytes in, the need for them doesn’t go away just because you are fat adapted.

A light meal tonight and if you feel ok about a half hour after breaking your fast, eat a little more. Don’t try to wolf down 2000 calories tonight if you aren’t hungry.

When breaking a fast, ease into it. Have something small, then about 30 minutes later, something more substantial.
