I have a question….i am on day 9 of eating healthy and exercising. I know I shouldn’t be checking the scale everyday but I can’t help it. I was down 4 pounds 2 days ago and then I gained a pound and then another .5 today. I Am not calorie counting but have changed my diet drastically and haven’t cheated. I was gonna give it another week to see if this continues but wondering if calorie counting is something that u have to continue after you reach your goal? Not something I really want to do forever….but willing to try to get to my goal. Any advice?

My weight changes every day, I use a measure tape. I still use a scale but only once a week when I first get up

Try to do a weekly weighing. Even if it is tempting the first part of weight loss is the weirdest. Your weight fluctuates so much because you changed your diet and exercise routines. Lot of professionals I have talked too say not to weight yourself for the first 2-4 weeks cause of all the fluctuations can be disappointing for many people

If you haven’t done so already, take your measurements. When I was losing, I got so frustrated at not seeing the scales move, until I broke out the measuring tape! I was losing inches instead of pounds. Still a win!

Don’t trust the scale! Your weight will fluctuate by as much as 8 pounds a DAY due to various things like sodium intake and water retention!

Go by a WEEKLY average to see the true level of fat loss!
