I have a question, I know it may be a stupid one but I don't quite understand. If you're supposed to eat 1,200 cals a day (that's what my weight doc told me before) how many cals are you supposed to burn off during workout to lose weight that's safe? Than

i think 1200 should be your total calories for the day. If you go 1500 burn off 300.

You can google how much calories you need a day.

-3500kcal to lose a pound in a week

You can burn off those calories without any workouts. But if you do workout it will put you in a further calorie deficit. To be safe you should eat a little more than the 1200 Cal if you plan on being physically active more than what is typical for you

I too have struggled with this question, and I got a few very different answers which only confused me even more so what I’m personally doing is my base iƱtake of calories is 1430 however I do go to the gym 3 days a week there fore I’m burning approximately 450-500 calories all depends how hard I push myself (yes some days I am lazy) nevertheless I’ve been adding additional 150 calories, now he other 3 days I snowshoe which for me burns even more calories therefore I eat up to 300 additional calories and they are healthy calories not junk food and I drink 8-14 cups of water, now with that all said I’m 48 I weigh 240 so is this working for me well since I’ve only started Feb. 1st and last night I got on the scale just to see and surprisingly I lost 5 lbs so maybe I am and maybe it’s water weight so I’ll see at the end of the month and maybe it’ll work or maybe I’ll have to adjust
