It never hurts also to get the specific better conditiner that has special trace elements in it that are good for bettas well being

As long as the water is purified or distilled water without carbon in the water it’s fine to use if not you need to use water conditioner. If you’re using conditioner it doesn’t matter what kind of water it is bc you’re coditioning and treating it to remove all of the harsh elements in the water like carbon and stuff that tap water has in it. What’s cool about bettas is you can use purified or distilled water for them and don’t have to treat the water
