I know Dr. Greger doesn’t recommend juice, but I just love the Trader Joe’s Just Beets juice and I drink it for the boost to my NO (I’m A rower). I’ve been having trouble figuring out a way to get everything in some days, so today I put about 6 oz of beet juice in my shaker, added 1 tsp amla, 1/2 tsp turmeric, and about 1/8 tsp black pepper. I drank it after my weightlifting workout. It was really good!

I just got a bottle of TJs beet juice. Very tasty. Out if the list of high nitrate veggies, do you know which ones are lowest in Vit. K? When I tried to check out my sources, beets came in best for nitrates with moderate Vit. k. (I’m on Warfarin and too much Vit, K pushes up Warfarin dose which makes me itch more.)

Seems ok to me. I think it’s is fruit juice that is not recommended. You could do even better by blending whole beets with the spices and water. You could even add spinach for more nitrate boost. You can buy beets canned with nothing but water….no salt… if you don’t want to mess with fresh beets. I know the prepared beet juice is really convenient though.

Lakewood Organic brand makes an organic, fresh pressed beet juice that still contains some pulp. Only organic lemon juice is added (1%). It is so good. I hated beets before I found this. I pay a little over $5 for a quart. Lowers my BP very quickly. It’s called Pure Beet Juice.
