I need some advice.

I need some advice. I have two Betta Fish. One female, Little Lottie, and one male, Gerald. Lottie for the longest time lived with my guppies and everything was going great. Today I saw her attack one of her brothers and my heart broke as I pulled her out of the tank. Now I am in a bit of a jam with what I should do with her. Right now she’s in a one gallon tank and I hate it, but I need to ensure there safety. Gerald has his own tank, 3 gallon half moon tank. I am looking into dividing a tank, but I don’t know how many gallons I should get if I am going to divide a tank. (I am in college and am only allowed to have one tank per room. My guppies stay in my dorm, and Gerald lives in my boyfriend’s room. So adding a whole new tank until I can get home is kind of out of the question D: so that’s sad.)

Maybe put Gerald in with the guppies, and give Lottie the 3 gallon?

Males can get along very well with other community fish. Especially if you put them in an already established tank, which you have. You just have to keep an eye on them for a few days to see if anybody is being aggressive.
