So I was reading up today on Keto because I want to know everything before I start. It said you can fast. Now ladies and gents! If you fasted, how long did you fast for? And did you just drink water in that time frame or something that kept your electrolytes up?

It’s only recommended to fast once you’re fat adapted, not while starting out. Many typically fast for 16 hours, then eat in an 8 hour window each day (say from 11am – 7pm for example).

Oh really? I didn’t know that I’m on day 4 and have been internment fasting 16 hours a day since day 2. I didn’t realize I wasn’t supposed to yet. I drink water, and keto or “bulletproof” coffee. I think tea is fine too during fasting.

DON’T fast in the beginning! It’s exactly like learning to ride a two-wheeler bike. First your body has to get the hang of it. (Getting into ketosis). Then you ride on the sidewalk (figure out how to make new keto recipes). Then you are riding in the street in front of your house (you got the hang of it, you are gaining confidence and you are losing weight). You get so good at riding that you ride on the big streets and you pop wheelies off of curbs (you know you just can’t eat as much and as often as you used to, so you start fasting.)

Don’t go in thinking you have to fast. Most people end up naturally fasting once you are fat adapted because you simply just aren’t hungry.
