Does anyone know if an 8oz bag of fresh spinach equal 6 “fistfuls” of cooked? I prefer my spinach uncooked because I almost choked to death twice from eating cooked spinach. It has something to do with the slimy stem getting stuck in my throat or something.

I love kale because it maintains a nice chewy texture and doesn’t become slimy when cooked. I do remove the ribs before cooking, and that ensures even cooking and no bitter flavor. It’s very easy to grow, and in a temperate climate you can grow it in your garden practically year round.

I would estimate about 6-8 ounces would equal a fistful. You can do a test in order to be precise . One does not have to eat spinach as one of the greens if you find it difficult

My favorite greens are kale and spinach combined, one # of spinach and 1/2 # kale, cooked, will last me 3 days, but I also eat beets and broccoli. ( My fists are small, thank goodness!)
