If I am growing floating plants only in a tank

If I am growing floating plants only in a tank, I know there should be some water movement so it doesn’t get stagnant. Would a big airstone and a little internal filter be enough? I really don’t need a pump. I want to cycle the filter JIC I need it in a fry tank so I am going to put it into the plant only tank. I will also have a heater in there.

A sponge filter should work. Might need to add a tiny bit of food to get the cycle started.

I was going to add a few air stones just for some water movement.

A sponge does both, gives the water movement and will cycle the tank as well.
