if the light is just not bright enough but I hope I don't have to go back to fake plants. Has anyone had this issue and what plants have you had success with the spec?

I have a Fluval spec and I added java fern 3 months ago and they’re all dying and brown. I leave the light on for 10-12 hours a day and use seachem excel. Not sure if the light is just not bright enough but I hope I don’t have to go back to fake plants. Has anyone had this issue and what plants have you had success with the spec?

Did you bury the java fern? Cause you’re not supposed to.

Thanks for the replies – the rhizome is attached to coconut husks and just sitting on the bottom of the tank. Not buried at all. I’m not sure what I could be doing wrong.. I have java fern also planted in my goldfish tank and it’s thriving. Only this tank is not doing well.

Could it be getting too much light? I’ve found that with the lower depth, medium light plants do best in mine & my lights are only on for maybe 7 hours total.
