I’m interested in buying the alex pro AR. .243 field. I’m curious how much accuracy I will sacrifice with a 20″ barrel compared to a 24″ heavy barrel. Is it with the extra money/ weight to go with the target model with a 24″ heavy barrel? Or I may buy the field and just pick up a second barrel down the road if I feel the need.

You won’t sacrifice any accuracy. Barrel length only affects velocity, and you wouldn’t lose too much of that between 24 and 20.

I have a Alex Pro in 22-250 24″ barrel Nightforce NXS 5-22×50 fine cross hair. Do to neck and back surgery I don’t have much time on it. It is well made comes with a billet aluminum magazine. Thinking of ackly improved because of case stretching but don’t if it would cycle. I would like one in a 6-284 which I think is the finest long range cyote

the real advantage to the shorter barrel aside from price is that it’ll be more maneuverable and easier to haul in a pickup or side by side.

I just got the APF .243 target version. More than the barrel you will miss out on a much better trigger. I really like the trigger in the Target. The Field is just a mil-spec. So far I like the gun, shoots well.
