Is it safe to use soap when cleaning out beta tank?

No.. Don’t use soap and if you use bleach on your equipment rinse well in dechlorinator. Vinegar is the safest or just plain water and elbow grease if necessary.

Detergent is horrendous for your fish…. try to avoid using it inside your tank for any reason.

No. Soap has phosphates in it and they are deadly to fish.

I do not use soaps or detergents on aquarium equipment. Original Dawn could be used, but must be rinsed very well…..and there is really no need to do so. Vinegar or bleach will handle everything.

Don’t use anything you won’t put in your mouth salt baking soda vinegar make good cleaners.
