Dr Greger advises to destroy the toxin agaritine that just 30 seconds in the microwave does it. Also freezing gets rid of most of it. He states that drying does not and says to boil dried mushrooms for five minutes before adding them to your soup or dish. This is from his HNTD Book, (not the cookbook), sorry I can’t give you a page number, I’ve got it on Kindle, his book also has all the references to back up these recommendations.

He states that Morel mushrooms are a special case and the toxin is not destroyed by cooking and can also react with alcohol, he lists them as a red-light food.

I started adding the button mushrooms to my daily steel cut oatmeal, cooked in my rice cooker. Love the savory breakfast every day. Add vegan “chicken” spices and a dash of coconut aminos. Really look forward to breakfast now.
