Is there any hope for my Betta?

Is there any hope for my Betta? We went to the LFS yesterday to get an Oto for our tank and they had Electric Blue Crawfish that my hubby fell in love with. Apparently they are NOT good tank mates with a Betta. It’s a 30 gallon, 1 Betta, 3 guppies, 5 ghost shrimp, 1 clown pleco and 1 oto with 2 Electric Blue Crawfish. This is the only one that looks attacked. It’s been hiding behind the filter most of the day. When it does come out, it just floats in place not moving its fins, or swimming sideways a lot. Is there anything I can do for him, or is there no hope?

You could also reduce flow in the tank so he doesn’t have to struggle to swim. Bettas have a hard time in current sometimes when fully healthy because of their big fins.

Crawfish can be very good fish hunters. If they can catch it, they will.

He will be fine but may I suggest getting some floating plants for him to rest in as betta are air breathers and need to swim up ti the surface regularly to take a gulp of air ! And with some floating plants he will be out of reach of that mean old crayfish !!

Keep his water very clean to avoid infection. You could put a pinch of aquarium salt in his tank to treat any fin root.
