So I just noticed one of my ghost shrimp is carrying eggs. Obviously I don’t want my tank overrun with shrimp. Is there anything I can do other than “getting rid” of the shrimp? Will the eggs even hatch? If so will my betta eat the baby shrimp? Thanks again I’m advance!

I think the tank has to be the right temperature, water level and type for them to hatch. I’ve had egg bound shrimp before and the eggs never made it.

Ghost shrimp babies require lots of floating algae and infusoria to survive. The possibility of your betta eating them is high. What type of filter are you running?

I have had probably literally close to a hundred pregnant ghost shrimp over time and I don’t think I have ever seen a baby I can’t remember why I thought this but I could havce sworn the babies need brackish waters Easy to breed shrimp, aka cherry shrimp and that whole family- they will quickly take over a species only tank. But it takes an insane amount of coverage to have a noticeable amount of babies survive with any shrimp.
I mean, what kind of fish doesn’t love to munch on brine shrimp lol same concept with babies
