Ive had 2 bettas...in 2 seperate tanks for about a year now. They were given to my kids as a xmas gift last year. I keep them each in a almost 1 gallon tank. But would like to upgrade their home. Can i keep them both in 1 tank w/ a divider?

Hi guys..im new here. Ive had 2 bettas…in 2 seperate tanks for about a year now. They were given to my kids as a xmas gift last year. I keep them each in a almost 1 gallon tank. But would like to upgrade their home. Can i keep them both in 1 tank w/ a divider? Or are 2 seperate tanks better? I cant spend tons of $$, dont have alot of space for their bigger tanks and dont want to get more fish …so i dont want to get like a huge tank. Also…will want a heater and filter….Can you recommend what kind of tank i can get for them please? Pics and where to get it would really help too. Fyi..im in chicago suburbs.

We ended up using the top fin dividers and swapping the original plastic for the black craft mesh, definitely liking black, I have noticed it seems to do a better job of blocking sight of neighbors

I would make sure the dividers weren’t clear though. A 10 gallon would be perfect. You can try Walmart or Petco. I’ve seen a lot of posts from ppl that have diy dividers made from black craft mesh(from Walmart) and report binders.

I would get 2 separate 5 gallons. That way if one gets sick they both dont get sick.
