Looks like I’m going to hunt a Shotgun only area soon for a few weeks. Need to put a picatinny rail on a Remington 870 for NV. Has anyone had luck with any of the saddle mounts, held in place by the trigger group pins? Don’t really want to drill and tap,

Has anyone had luck with any of the saddle mounts, held in place by the trigger group pins? Don’t really want to drill and tap, but I know that is probably a better long term option. So again, Saddle mount suggestions???

Just throw a mount on top of your action and drill and tap the receiver.

Just get a gun that is drilled. Or get yours drilled. Saddle mounts are not stable. But if you go that way don’t buy the Remington mounts. Buy an off brand as the Remington ones are sloppy

I believe you can get solder on cantilever mounts

Honestly probably just as cheap. Or a tactical 870

I do not recommend a saddle mount, my experience was once it was on I could wiggle the scope that was on it
