My apartment gym only has a smith machine. Would building chest muscles be better laying on floor and pressing dumbbells?

Doing a dumbbell floor press cuts your range of motion in half. You won’t get a full stretch in your pecs but you can build some pretty explosive upper body strength.

Better? Ehhhh so so. Yea not really. You see what you need to do is use the smith machine and lift heavy shuff. Then you need to take the dumbells and repeat. Heck even use grandma if she will let you. Lift her to…….lift heavy and often

Neither. I would do push ups instead. If you can do more than 3×12 on standard push ups then do a harder variation like decline push ups or diamond push ups, or decline diamond push ups. Keep doing harder progressions of push ups as you improve to achieve progressive overload.
