ok going on a cruise in May. What is an ok alchol to drink in moderation? I am a yr post op and haven’t had any alchol in that time but I know I will want to have a drink on the cruise, I will have to try before going to make sure I won’t get sick. Is there something that isn’t loaded with sugar that I could drink? Tia

If you like wine, I’ve tried Pinot a few times and it has gone well. (I make sure I don’t have an empty stomach and I sip slow!)
Prior to trying anything, I googled low sugar wines to find some info. Could probably do the same for liquor.

I loved the Miami Vice. Lots of sugar. I’m RNY- and I handled it well. Just knew how to tune in to how it effected me.
Also we ended up getting the drink package so I tried a few different drinks I never tried before. Mojito was good

I’ve never been on a cruise, but I’m a year out & have had alcohol. I do best sipping red wine, merlot or malbec are my favorites. Bloody marys are good for me because the alcohol ratio isn’t so high (And I’m getting veggies in!). With Jack, I’d try some diet ginger ale or coke with lots of ice, if you can tolerate the bubbles, or stir the heck out of it. I even taste my husband’s beers, but don’t think I could tolerate one on my own. I try to space them out & drink water in between if I can.
