Okay so I need someone to tell me if I should change what I’m doing. I usually get on the elliptical for about 40-60 mins & I’ll sprint for a full song then slow down a song. I’ve heard that doing a 20 minute hiit cardio session burns way more calories & fat then say an hour does. Can someone explain?

hiit burns far more calories than steady state cardio…because u burn more while your done because of EPOC…Hiit burns more calories during and after the workout in other words

Well, since you go harder doing it, it takes more to recover than steady state, and your body burns more calories to recover from HIIT than steady state

Ahh I see. Epoc is something about your body getting the oxygen back it used or something right?
