High ammonia means low bacteria?

I meat to put nitrate not ammonia.

You were right, high ammonia means low bacteria and that I cycle isn’t completed. High nitrates mean water changes.

If you have ammonia or nitrite, this means that there is not enough beneficial bacteria to feed off of it. If your ammonia and nitrite are both 0ppm, and you have a nitrate reading, that means that your cycle is complete.
