So how important are these rest days?

So how important are these rest days? I’ve been skipping them because I just don’t feel like I need to rest. I’m not sore. I also know this isn’t logical but taking a day off makes me feel like I’m losing muscle that day. I start week 3 of Beta tomorrow ahead of schedule.

Resting your body is important to build muscle. If you maybe feel like you don’t “need” it maybe take a day off T25 and do other activities like hiking, yoga etc so you don’t feel like you’re skipping out.

Rest days are vital. Our bodies are unable to sustain high levels of exercise without them. Our muscles actually develop as they’re given time to repair minuscule tears during rest. If you’re worried about the ‘day off’ then reduce your carbs on that day as you won’t need as many but don’t press play.

It is very important to rest and recover even when you don’t feel sore. Not resting will take a toll on the body long term, it may not seem like it now but down the road it will. Take the rest, know that it’s part of the journey and it’s just as important as the hardest workout you can do. You work hard during the workouts so recover well during the rest days. I just finished shaun week and it was super super hard to rest on a Monday when I’m constantly saying never miss a Monday, but I knew it was important to replenish my body going forward!
