So I am buying a male betta today and another female (already have one) so can I put the male in my community tank with the 2 females or do I need to get him his own solitary tank? I don’t mind to do that just wanted to check before I purchase!

You should be ok. I have 1 male with females, no issues.

Can be hit or miss. I attempted to breed betta for a while. Never had much success, because 1 of my females killed every male I put her with. I was not much of a betta fan anyway just gave it a try because my step daughter wanted to try breeding them. I couldn’t exactly say NO, because I had 40+ tanks of breeding fish (mainly JD’s).

You can’t put males and females or even females with females unless you know what you are doing. All 3 need separate tanks.
