So I’ve always thought that coconut oil is this untouchable health food and Ive always used the refined version for cooking.
But recent statements and data are suggesting otherwise. Now Ive replaced it with canola oil.
I thought coco oil is healthy due to its MCT content, that you dont really absorb it as triglyceride but you automatically use it for energy. Is that not the case? whats it about coco oil that makes it not so good?
thanks to all
I’ll tell you one thing MCT oil (coconut oil) will dissolve polystyrene plastics. I got a barista to make me a bulletproof coffee(look it up). Shot of coffee, ghee, coconut oil and water. Very tasty, high energy. Before the drink was finished the integrity of the foam cup was gone and the lid had split at numerous locations around the rim. Not sure what that means except maybe I need a glass, ceramic or stainless steel drinking vessel if MCT oil is involved.
