So, what causes an algae spike, and how do you get rid of it? Is too much algae bad? Is it okay to have some algae? I need tips! Thanks!

As far as i know, algae growth can be controlled by how much light is allowed to shine into the tank. Doesn’t need to be sunlight, just light. Bettas do not need or want lots of light. Personally I only turn the lights when i want to take pictures or need to work on the tanks

Most algae eaters have pretty high bio loads. I am a huge fan of nirite snails for algae. Ultimately light control is the real trick
