Dear all, are you aware of any special recommendations for somebody who lives in a cold climate area where the summer is only around a month or two and the temperature is 20 degrees by Centigrade below zero most of the time? How to consume enough calories without oil and animal products? What about Vitamin D possible deficiency?
I love in a colder climate, not as cold as you but right now it’s 24 degrees so pretty cold. I use frozen berries, veggies…except greens I buy therm “fresh.” In the winter when temps are below freezing, which here is usually us November to March
Of course you need to supplement Vitamin D, just as those who live in less northerly climates do. I’m in Virginia and I supplement, but that’s not due to this diet, it’s about not getting enough sunlight as I’m not outside as much as I would like.
